ShunChecker-G2G is a measurement device for Glass-to-Glass latency (the delay from light entering the camera to light exiting the display). It can measure the latency of video transmission systems.
2μs precision measurement. USB-C powered. Standalone & PC connection modes.

Powered by USB-C, it offers a standalone mode convenient for outdoor measurements and a PC connection mode suitable for detailed analysis.
It can measure Glass-to-Glass latency (from light input to the camera until the display lights up) with 2μs precision. Rising and falling edge delay measurement is supported.
In PC connection mode, measurement waveforms can be displayed in a web app, and latency measurement results can be saved in CSV format for convenient analysis.
The WebGUI application allows you to view past waveforms, rising edge waveforms, falling edge waveforms, distributions, and more at a glance.
Web application available when ShunChecker is connected to a PC
ShunChecker-Remote (remote measurement version) features a built-in OCXO for high-precision timekeeping and supports 1-Way measurement between remote locations (one-directional latency measurement without turnaround) using PPS signals from an optional GPS module. Measurement consistency based on video sync timing has been verified.
Development Background
ShunChecker is a product that can measure latency below one frame.
Conventionally, video transmission latency is measured by displaying a timer or stopwatch in front of the camera, then taking a photo that captures both the display output and the real timer side by side.
This method introduces measurement errors from the shutter speed of the measurement camera (1/1000 corresponds to 1 ms), the display refresh period (16.7 ms at 60 Hz), and the frame period of the camera filming the timer (16.7 ms at 60 Hz). While this is acceptable for rough measurements on the order of 100 ms, it becomes difficult when you need precision at 10 ms or below 1 ms.

| Factor | Condition | Equivalent Time |
|---|---|---|
| Measurement camera shutter speed | 1/1000 | 1 ms |
| Display refresh period | 60 Hz | 16.7 ms |
| Frame period of the camera filming the timer | 60 Hz | 16.7 ms |
In addition, because display updates transition smoothly, exact values are often hard to read, making quantitative latency measurement difficult. Since the process is fully manual, collecting a large number of samples is also burdensome.
ShunChecker uses an LED and a photodetector to quantitatively measure Glass-to-Glass latency with up to 2 us precision. Because measurement is automated, you can fix the LED and photodetector in place and collect many samples hands-free.

Supports automated sampling with up to 2 us precision.
A model for cases where you have a camera and display on hand. One ShunChecker unit with LED and sensor modules connected — only one ShunChecker unit is needed.
The ShunChecker-Local Starter Kit includes 1x ShunChecker-Local, 1x LED module, 1x sensor module, and 2x connection cables. A complete set for immediate hands-on measurement.
Simple single-unit configuration
Max measurement error: 20μs (at 1000ms delay)
USB-C powered, suitable for outdoor use
A model equipped with OCXO (high-precision clock) capable of measuring 1-way delay between remote locations. Requires connection of an optional GNSS module. Two ShunChecker-Remote units are needed for remote location measurement.
ShunChecker-Remote enables 1-Way latency measurement between remote locations. Compared to 2-Way turnaround measurement, fewer elements introduce jitter (transmission path, display, camera), enabling stable high-precision measurement.
When camera/display sync timing coincides, measurement results may differ each time, lacking reproducibility. This product solves this issue even in remote latency measurement, achieving consistent measurements.
Built-in OCXO with GNSS synchronization for high-precision timekeeping
Max measurement error: 50ns (with GNSS sync, at 1000ms delay)
High-precision, consistent results via 1-Way measurement
Maintains ~20μs/hour accuracy even after GNSS lock loss
Please use the included dedicated GNSS module.
